How to open a Skrill account?

Opening a Skrill ewallet account is a fast and straightforward procedure. In approximately 10 minutes, you can open a Skrill account and make the first deposit.

What are the basic requirements for opening a Skrill account?

#1 Desktop and mobile

You can register to Skrill on desktop or mobile, but you will need your smartphone to verify data. Skrill ewallet works on iOS and Android, so it is recommendable to download the Skrill app.

#2 ID document

To verify your Skrill ewallet, you will need to provide an official identification document, either a driver's license, passport, or an identification card.

Opening Skrill account step-by-step

Step 1 - go to the Skrill website

Go to the official Skrill website and click register - find the registration button on the homepage's right upper corner. This will bring you to the registration form for a new Skrill account.

Skrill's website supports multiple languages so that you can choose between several language options.

Step 2 - Fill in the Skrill registration form

Enter personal data required to open a Skrill account: first name, last name (as on your official identification documents), choose the country of residence and primary currency.

Here you select the currency of your primary wallet. In Skrill ewallet, you can later set up different currency accounts.

Enter your email and choose a password for your ewallet account.

Step 3 - Submitting Skrill registration form

Before completing the registration process, you will have to check the box you confirm to have read and agree to the Skrill Terms of Use and Privacy Notice

From time to time, Skrill sends marketing messages. If you don't want to receive them, they can be switched off in account settings.

By completing and submitting the registration form, you have registered for a Skrill account. The first phase of opening Skrill is complete.

Step 4 - First deposit and receiving funds to Skrill account

Before making the first deposit or receiving money, Skrill will require further personal information:
  • Country of residence
  • Skrill wallet primary currency
  • Address
  • City of residence
  • Postal code
  • Date of birth

After submitting this data, you will have access to the Skrill wallet and the option to make your first deposit and receive money to your Skrill account.

Step 5 - Verify your account

Although you have already submitted some personal information, your Skrill account has not been verified yet. Go to account settings and verify your account.

Verification takes 2-3 minutes via desktop webcam or smartphone. You will have to take snapshots of your identification documents and portrait photo.

A full verification takes between 24 and 48 hours. Skrill's team will assess your submitted documents.
Once verified, Skrill users can use all features of the ewallet, including sending and receiving funds, buying and selling cryptocurrency.

Step 6 - Save your login data

Don't forget to save your login data and keep it in a safe place.

Skrill is a secure ewallet, so you will be asked to set up a verification code (6-digit figure) or PIN.
